The Kromeriz Castle has
about 65 hectars of it's own
beautiful gardens and parks
which are open to the public
all year round.

Some landscape work done
in these gardens dates back
almost 500 years and they
are kept meticolously all year
round.

(yep... those are real mini palm trees)

Amongs the various artificial
waterways, lakes and ponds
is this Fisherman's Pond.
In summer you can observe
giant Carp swimming under
the surface.

And if it's cold you could
bring your ice skates along
though skating is not allowed.

Il Castello di Kromeriz ha circa 65 ettari dei propri
giardini e parchi che sono
aperti al pubblico tutto l'anno.

Alcuni lavori paesagistici
nei giardini vanno indietro
oltre 500 anni e sono mantenuti meticolosamente tutto l'anno.

(si quelli sono vere mini palme)

ghiaccio sebbene è
vietato pattinare.

On the edge of the Fisherman's
Pond is the Fisherman's
Pavilion which in summertime
houses a small cafè serving
cold beer and soft drinks.

small hidden garden called
the Giardinetto.

In the summer the Castle
gardens are a beautiful place
to spend an afternoon, with
many trees like this one
offering shade.

Paths lead to most
parts of the gardens.

Plenty of small lakes too...

... and swans

...and more trees

If you hear children squeaking
then it's probably a Peacock
trying to attract some attention.

Near one of the entrances
there is a small zoological
garden with eagles, canaries
and these funny baboons.

The male baboon can get
outrageously peeved off and
when he does - visitors are
glad he's behind bars.

Pitty that ice-skating is
not allowed. When the
ponds freeze up they'd
make perfect ice rinks.

There's a small coral with
deer and even a donkey.

Also small rabbits run freely
near various enclosures and
even venture out onto the
pathways.
Presumably Kromeriz cats are well fed all year round.

When it snows in
Kromeriz ... it really snows...

...and snows... and snows.

Durante l'estate i giardini
del Castello sono un luogo
bellissimo per passare un
pomeriggio, con molti
alberi come questo che
offrono l'ombra.

Sentieri portano quasi
dovunque nei giardini.

Tanti laghetti anche...

... e cigni

...ed altri alberi

Se sentite bambini che strillano probabilmente è un Pavone che cerca di attirare
l'attenzione.

Vicino una delle entrate vi è
un piccolo giardino zoologico
con falchetti, canarini e questi
divertenti babuini.

Il maschio babuino può
incavolarsi magnificamente e quando lo fa - i visitatori
sono contenti che è dietro sbarre.

Peccato che il pattinaggio
è proibito. Quando i laghetti
si congelano farebbero da
ottime piste da pattinaggio.

C'è un piccolo recinto con
stambecchi ed un asino.

Ci sono anche dei coniglietti
che scorrono tra i vari recinti
liberalmente, venturando
anche sui sentieri pedonali.
Evidentemente i gatti di
Kromeriz trovano da mangiare tutto l'anno.
