Pension Holub

If you book into the Pension Holub and tell them that you found them through this website - or just that Pete sent you - they will give you a nice bottle of White Moravian wine as a welcoming gift when you check in.

The pension Holub is definitely the nicest, classiest, coziest, most comfortable Pension in all of Moravia and it's about half a mile from the center ok Kromeriz.

We've never seen cleaner rooms in a Czech pension, nor met such nice pension owners and restaurant staff as those of this Kromeriz Pension.

And not only is the Pension Holub in a quiet part of Kromeriz and also very near the center, and not only do they have the best restaurant in Kromeriz on the ground floor, but the inside is that of an old hunting lodge kept in this rustic but renovated style, the restaurant staff speak English, Italian and German and the rooms are exquisite with satellite television, telephones and even the option of an internet connection.

The villa was built in 1927, and after the restitution in 1989 was transformed into a restaurant first and then also into the pension it is today.

So why am I so enthusiastic about this little Pension in Kromeriz ?

First of all this is the only place in Kromeriz where I myself go to eat if eating out in the evening.

This because the service is exceptional, the food superb, especially if you have the Pfeffer Steak, or the Catalan Steak - and if you spend at least 3 days in Kromeriz and eat elsewhere - you will understand what I mean - if then you do go to eat at the Holub - even if you aren't staying there.

When our dental patients come to Kromeriz to have their teeth repaired, I usually take them straight to the Holub for a meal.
Then they usually find all the other little taverns and restaurants in town but after a few days they all go back to the Holub and eat there for the rest of their stay.

The owners, Mr and Mrs Pospisil, usually around during daytime, are the most capable and caring pension owners that I have met in Moravia and try and do their utmost so that their guests feel that they are in a special pension.

When I suggested to them this idea of a giving away a bottle of wine so that they too could see how many visitors to Kromeriz actually chose their accommodation via this website, they immediately said yes and thought it a good idea.

I have tried suggesting similar to other hotel and Pension owners in Kromeriz ... some laughed, some said no, and one even said ..." well then everybody in Kromeriz will be asking for free wine".
I had to underline the fact to this hotel manager that if everybody came to claim wine - then everybody would be booking into her hotel.
Duh !

Se prenotate una camera alla Pensione Holub e dite che li avete trovato tramite questo sito, o che vi manda Pete - riceverete una bottiglia di Vino bianco di Moravia come un regalo di benvenuto quando prenotate una camera.

La Pensione Holub è sicuramente la più piacevole pensione di Kromeriz, se non tutta la Moravia.
Comoda, accogliente, ed è a circa 600 metri dal centro di Kromeriz.

Non abbiamo visto camere e bagni più puliti in una Pensione in tutta la Repubblica Ceca come quelle della pensione Holub, e nemmeno incontrato gestori e personale così simpatico come quelli di questo ristorante/pensione.

Non solo la pensione Holub si trova in una zona tranquillissima di Kromeriz ma allo stesso tempo è molto centrale, e non solo hanno il migliore ristorante in tutto Kromeriz con prezzi che per visitatori stranieri sono super economici, ma l'interno è arredato come lo stile iniziale della sua origine ovvero una loggia di caccia di vecchio stile.
Il personale parla inglese, italiano e tedesco e le stanze sono squisite con sattelite, telefono e anche l'opzione di collegamento internet .

La villa fu costruita nel 1927, e dopo la restituzione nel 1989 era trasformata prima in un ristorante e dopo anche nella pensione che è oggi.

Perchè dunque sono così entusiasta su questo pensioncino di Kromeriz ?

Prima di tutto, se mangio fuori a Kromeriz vado solo al Holub.

Questo perchè la cucina è ottima, specialmete la bistecca al pepe, o quella catalana - e se passate almeno tre giorni a Kromeriz e provate tutti gli altri ristorantini e taverne e poi anche il ristorante al Holub, non vorrete mangiare altrove.

Quando i nostri pazienti dentistici vengono a Kromeriz per farsi riparare i denti, di solito li porto a mangiare al Holub la prima sera.
Dopo, loro di solito fanno il giro degli altri ristoranti nei primi giorni della loro permanenza, ma alla fine finiscono tutti a ritornare al Holub e mangiare lì per il resto della loro permanenza.

I proprietari, Sig. e Sig.ra Pospisil, di solito presenti di giorno, sono molto capaci e bravi gestori di pensione e si danno molto da fare per assicurare che sia gli ospiti nella pensione, che quelli che vanno solo al ristorante si sentono al loro agio.

Quando avevo suggerito la idea di regalare una bottiglia di vino per poter monitorare quante persone che vengono a Kromeriz veramente trovano l'accomodazione tramite questo sito web, hanno subito acconsentito ed erano anche loro della opinione che era una ottima idea.

Ho provato a suggerire lo stesso ad altri albergatori a Kromeriz ... alcuni hanno detto di no, altri mi hanno riso in faccia, ed una persino mi disse... "beh, allora verranno tutti di Kromeriz e chiederanno una bottiglia di vino", e ho dovuto spiegare a questa 'manager' che a quel punto tutti dovrebbero anche prenotare una camera nel suo albergo.
Boh!

Tutte le camere della pensione Holub sono doppie e i prezzi partono da circa Euro 35 per una persona a notte e vanno ai Euro 50 per due persone a notte.
