Due to the unexpected demand from international visitors to this site concerning dental treatment here described, we've decided to include a general price list of the dental services on offer, in Kromeriz for most dental work required - and in Prague for dental implants and more complicated dental procedures.

This should help sort out the curious from those seriously considering having their teeth repaired in the Czech Republic.

Just to give you some idea:

Crowns:
A porcelain crown elsewhere in Europe can cost anything from Euro 400 to Euro 1200. In Kromeriz - 1 porcelain crown costs about Euro 100 and can be fitted in two visits - usually;
First visit - preparation - dental cast
next day visit - insertion and fitting

Bruxism protector:
A rubber removable teeth guard that people who suffer from Bruxism (unconscious gnashing of the teeth during sleep) use during the night, costs Euro 35 and is ready the next day after your first visit to the dentist.
Elsewhere this can take a month and cost around Euro 700 upwards.

General exploratory visit
which basically means the dentist checks out your teeth, gums and mouth.
This can also involve getting some X-rays.
We suggest you get this done at your own dentists' so that you already know what you need to have done.

Oral X-ray and analysis (one take)
This consists of having the problem area x-rayed and analysed. Again we suggest this should be done at your local dentists before you decide to have treatment in Kromeriz.

Plaque cleaning and removal.
Ever had to clean a toilet with calc remover to get rid of all those yellow sediments that accumulate in the nooks and crannies? Or had to change the heating element in your washing machine as the old one is encrusted with white sediment ?
This is similar to the plaque that accumulates if you don't clean your teeth every time you breathe. Or at least if you don't clean your teeth properly.
Plaque causes decay.
The treatment is done by a sonic vibrating spatule that scrapes off the plaque using ultrasound.

Amalgamate filling
with local anaesthetic
Amalgamate fillings are cheaper than photocomposite since they are metallic /silver coloured and not white.
Usually used for back-facing fillings or teeth not directly visible when you say cheese.

Photocomposite filling
with local anaesthetic
Photocomposit fillings are white hence aesthetically more appealing than amalgamate ones.

Simple extraction
with local anaesthetic
Simple as in easy, uncomplicated to extract.

Root canal treatment (1 canal)
Meaning the medication and cleaning of roots out of teeth canals. Also devitalisation. Usually done when the root is decayed.

Bleaching & cosmetic treatment
This is a chemical process which enhances teeth whiteness.
Upper and lower teeth casts are taken and rubber 'shoes' made for both upper and lower teeth.

Before fitting on teeth the front parts of these gloves are filled with whitening bleaching liquid.

This prevents the bleaching liquid being washed away by saliva or tongue or worse, bleaching your gums white.
These teeth-gloves basically fit around the teeth and being thin and rubbery, do not cause discomfort.
The first session is done at the dentist's where your teeth are cleaned, the moulds are taken and made and a first session of bleaching of about 40 minutes is done (you just sit there staring at the wall or out of the window and the bleach does the rest).
Then you are given the teeth-gloves and the bleaching liquid for your own applications at home - which is the same procedure as above and very easy to do.
The gloves are filled slightly with the bleaching liquid and fitted on the teeth and worn for sessions of a bout 1 hour for a period of 10 days.
During these sessions you can go about your daily business but obviously eating and /or kissing someone is not advisable whilst wearing the bleach.
The result is white teeth.

Paradonthosis treatment
If you insert a thin nail between a tooth and the gum and push - if the nail goes in several millimetres - you've got paradonthosis. (Do get your dentists to stick the nail in for you).
Paradonthosis also causes painful gums and the worse paradonthosis gets, the sooner your teeth will fall out as they lose the support of the gum that holds them.
This treatment involves a long thin rotating drill inserted between the gum and teeth and via water/disinfectant liquid and the rotating movement of the drill the area is cleaned and the paradonthosis can be stopped or at least delayed.
Does not hurt or can be done under local anaesthetic if you are too sensible.

Ceramic Crowns
Once a tooth is too decayed to be filled, it is 'capped' by a crown. This consists of removal of the upper part of the tooth, possible canal cleaning and then the setting of a permanent crown - (false fixed tooth) on top of old tooth or what remained of it - in a permanent manner.
A molded cast is taken of your mouth and a orthodontic laboratory specialist creates an exact porcelain copy of the tooth to be replaced.
Ceramic/porcelain crowns are white and are colour combined with the general colour of your other teeth.
The crown is then fitted and if needed re-elaborated by the technician or dentist (filed) to get a perfect fit before being cemented into place for good.
This is not an implant. Implant being a tooth that has gone completely (is missing) and needs substituting and a metal bolt is screwed into your jawbone to then have a false tooth or crown screwed onto it permanently.

Faceted Crown
Same as above as far as procedure but the crown is partially metallic and only the part facing the outside or where it is visible is coated with white ceramic.
Preferred in the Czech Republic as it is cheaper than ceramic crowns and international patients will appreciate that the difference of 1000 crowns (Euro 30) is a lot of money to local residents.

Prothesis (False teeth)
Meaning false removable teeth either top or bottom.
This intends that any other work necessary to accommodate the false teeth has been done.

Partial Prothesis
(partial false teeth)
Partial means that if you have 3 teeth missing here and 4 teeth missing there. These are removable teeth and slide in and hook onto existing teeth when worn.
This intends that any other work necessary to accommodate the false teeth has been done.

Temporary resinal
bridge or single teeth
This is basically a tooth-from-the-tube molded ready to wear temporarily for a few days.
This can be a false tooth inserted for a temporary and aesthetical purpose.
Consists of paste gelatin ceramic being modelled onto a filed tooth or around existing teeth to fill in a gaping hole in your smile whilst a crown is being prepared or while root and canal healing and medication takes place.
The paste hardens solid in about 3 minutes and you can chew on that tooth comfortably.
Possibly avoiding hard foodstuffs or opening beer bottles with your teeth for the period it's there.

Anti - Bruxism protection
A rubber-resin removable insertion protective pad that people who suffer from Bruxism (unconscious gnashing of the teeth during sleep) use during the night.
It is fitted manually onto the upper teeth at night and does not cause discomfort.

and is ready the next day after your first visit to the dentist.

 

All the above treatments can be done in Kromeriz at the above quoted costs.
If done in Prague, the costs can be up to 4 times as much.

 

PRAGUE:
Prices for dental implantology and surgery treatment in Prague

The costs of implants done in Prague start at around Cz Crowns 36.000 or about Euro 1200 and the only way to get a more precise estimate is to undertake an exploratory and analysis visit.

This is due to the fact that in some cases such as the implant of the whole upper teeth row is usually done in 2 separate parts divided themselves into several sessions and a healing process is involved which can mean several visits to start with and further visits after 5 months.

This would mean more than one visit and treatments depending on how many implants were to be done and how extensive each implant is.

To give you an idea of the costs of this type of treatment one implant (one tooth) Cz. Crowns 36000 / Euro 1200

In Italy or Switzerland for example - to get this sort of work done the cost would be around 4 times and more than this - and presumably elsewhere similar prices are to be expected.
Do ask your dentist.

But despite the saving in money, as mentioned, there is a healing process involved and even a rejection can occur (the jawbone is not happy with the bolt) which could cause complications.

If rejection occurs - no big deal - but an immediate visit to the dentists in Prague would be necessary.

So... if you need this sort of work done - and could get back to Prague within a couple of days in cases of rejection - or anyway for the other visits needed to complete the implants - then you might consider having this treatment done in Prague.

With the saving involved presumably one could come over many many times and still save money.

But if you can't just get up and come over for a few days then we'd strongly recommend having implantations done in your own country.

 

Porcelain veneers - dental veneers
Porcelain veneers, or dental porcelain laminates, are wafer-thin shells of porcelain which are bonded onto the front side of teeth so to make a cosmetic improvement in their appearance.
For example in the case of really skewed and irregular teeth.
Porcelain veneers are routinely used to idealize teeth that are discoloured, worn, chipped, or misaligned and they create a very life-like tooth appearance.

You might be surprised to learn that while a major component of teeth is enamel, it is not solid enamel. The enamel component of a tooth is actually only an outer shell.

Porcelain veneers resist staining.
Cosmetic dental bonding materials utilized in the past had the shortcoming of being susceptible to staining and discolouring. This was especially a problem for those people whose teeth had excessive exposure to tea, coffee, red wine, or cigarette smoking. A significant advantage of porcelain veneers over other types of cosmetic dental bonding is related to the fact that a porcelain veneer's surface is just that, porcelain. Since porcelain is a ceramic, and therefore glass-like, its surface is extremely smooth and impervious. This means that the surface of a porcelain veneer will not pick up permanent stains

Capsule (corone)
Una capsula di porcellana, altrove in Europa (soprattutto nel Bel Paese) vi costerà dai Euro 400 ai Euro 1200.
A Kromeriz - 1 capsula di porcellana costa ca Euro 100 ed il lavoro viene eseguito in due visite - di solito;
Prima visita, preparazione - forma dentale.
Seconda visita - il giorno dopo, inserzione e posizionamento della capsula.

Protezione Anti-Bruxismo:
Un impianto supporto di gomma rimovibile, che sofferenti di Bruxismo (l'inconscio sgranare dei denti durante il sonno) usano durante la notte, costa ca Euro 35 ed è pronta il giorno successivo alla prima visita al dentista.
Altrove questo costerebbe ca Euro 700 in su con tempi che si estendono in mesi e non in 24 ore.

Questo consiste nel fare un raggio x della area in questione con seguente analisi del problema. Di nuovo suggeriamo che questo ve lo fate fare prima di venire per trattamento a Kromeriz.

Pulitura e rimozione Placca.
Mai dovuto usare un decalcificatore per pulire un gabinetto per rimuovere tutti quei sedimenti gialli ? O avete dovuto far cambiare l'elemento riscaldante della vostra lavatrice perchè quello vecchio era coperto di calcare bianco ?
Questo è simile alla placca che si accumula attorno ai vostri denti se non li pulite ogni volta che respirate. O almeno se non li pulite per bene.
La placca causa carie.
Il trattamento viene fatto usando una spatola sonicamente vibrata che gratta via la placca con ultrasuoni.

Otturazione (non di piombo ovviamente) in amalgamo sono più economiche di quelle in fotocomposito dato che sono di colore metallico / argentato.
Di solito usate per denti interni o almeno parti non visibili quando vi fate una risata.

Otturazioni in Fotocomposito sono del tutto bianche per cui più esteticamente gradevoli che quelle in amalgamo.

Estrazione semplice

Semplice nel senso di senza problematiche e facile da estrarre

Trattamento radice e canale (1 canale)
Il medicamento e trattamento e pulitura delle radici dai canali.
Anche devitalizzazione.
Solitamente fatto quando una radice è cariata del tutto.

Sbiancamento / trattamento cosmetico
Una procedura chimica la quale aumenta la 'bianchezza' dei denti.
Forme sono prese del piano superiore ed inferiore e da queste vengono create dei 'guanti' di gomma per poi piazzare sui denti.

Queste poi vengono riempite con gelatina sbiancante il che evita che la gelatina sbiancante viene lavata via dalla saliva o dalla lingua o peggio ancora di attaccare la gengiva. Posizionati sui denti i guanti non danno fastidio dato che sono molto sottili.

La prima seduta viene fatta stesso dal dentista dopo che i denti sono stati puliti, i guanti creati, e dura circa 40 minuti (basta rimanere seduti e fissare il muro e la gelatina fa il resto).
Poi ricevete i guanti ed un kit di gelatina sbiancante per applicare a casa vostra - che è la stessa procedura come appena fatta dal dentista.
I guanti si riempiono con gelatina, piazzati sui denti per circa una ora al giorno per un periodo di 10 giorni.
Durante queste sedute potete fare quello che fareste di solito ma ovviamente è sconsigliabile magiare o bere o baciare qualcuno.

Il risultato sono denti bianchi.

Trattamento della Paradontosi
Se inserite un piccolo chiodo tra un dente e la gengiva. e spingete - se il chiodo entra diversi millimetri - avete paradontosi. (Fatevi fare questo dal vostro dentista e non sperimentate con chiodi a casa vostra).
La paradontosi causa anche gengive dolenti e man mano che peggiora perderete i vostri denti dato che questi perdono il supporto della circostante gengiva.
Il trattamento viene eseguito con un trapano lungo e sottile inserito tra i denti e la gengiva. e col movimento rotante assieme l'acqua/liquido disinfettante la zona viene ripulita e la paradontosi può essere fermata o almeno ritardata.
Non fa male oppure può essere eseguito sotto anestesia locale se siete sensitivi.

Capsule di ceramica
Una volta che un dente è cariato al punto che non ci si può applicare una otturazione, viene ricoperto con una capsula. Questo consiste nel rimuovere la parte superiore del dente, la pulitura delle radici e dei canali se necessario e poi il fissamento di una capsula permanente (dente falso) al posto del dente vecchio - o ciò che ne era rimasto.
Una impronta in resina (tipo gomma) viene presa dei vostri denti ed un tecnico odontoiatra specializzato crea una esatta copia del dente (la capsula) da rimpiazzare o 'incapsulare'.
Capsule di ceramica sono abbinabili colormente - nel senso che viene scelto un colore che assomiglia il colore del resto dei denti.
La capsula è poi inserita e se necessario rielaborata (limata) per ottenere una presa perfetta - prima di essere cementata permanentemente.
Questo non va considerato un impianto. Un impianto è quando una vite di metallo viene implantata nell'osso della mascella per poi avere un dente falso piazzato su di esso ma in modo permanente.

Capsule facettate
Simile alla procedura come sopra ma questo tipo di capsula è del tipo metallico e solo la parte visibile viene ricoperta di ceramica. Preferiti in CZ dato che sono più economiche e clienti internazionali apprezzeranno che la differenza di 1000 corone (Euro 30) è una somma non indifferente ai abitanti locali.

Protesi (Denti Falsi)
Si intende denti falsi rimovibili o del piano superiore o quello inferiore.
Sottointeso è che qualsiasi altro lavoro necessario per accomodare i denti falsi è stato già fatto.

Protesi parziale (Denti Falsi parziali)
Parziale come per esempio se vi mancano 3 denti qui e 4 denti lì. Questi sono sempre denti falsi rimovibili e vengono inseriti e agganciati sui denti esistenti quando si portano.
Sottointeso è che qualsiasi altro lavoro necessario per accomodare i denti falsi è stato già fatto.

Ponte o dente resinale temporaneo.
Praticamente un dente dal tubo creato al volo pronto per uso temporaneo per un paio di giorni.
Potrebbe essere un dente falso inserito per ragioni temporanee per estetica.
Consiste di una pasta bianca che viene modellata sopra un dente affilato o attorno denti esistenti per riempire un buco nel vostro sorriso mentre che la vera capsula viene preparata oppure è in procinto la medicazione e cura dei canali e radici.
La pasta si indurisce in circa 3 minuti e potete masticare su quel dente senza problemi.
Possibilmente evitando cibi duri o il tentare di stappare bottiglie di birra usando i denti.

Apparechietto anti - bruxismo
Un impianto supporto di gomma rimovibile, che sofferenti di Bruxismo (l'inconscio sgranare dei denti durante il sonno) usano durante la notte.
Viene fissato manualmente sul piano superiore di notte e non causa scomodezza.

ed è pronto il giorno successivo alla prima visita al dentista.

Tutti i trattamenti sopra descritti posso essere eseguiti a Kromeriz ai prezzi indicati.
Se eseguiti a Praga il costo potrebbe essere fino a 4 volte superiore.

 

PRAGA:
Prezzi per implantologia dentale e chirurgia a Praga

Il costo di implantati fatti a Praga iniziano da circa Cz Crowns 36.000 (Euro 1200) e l'unico modo per ottenere un preventivo esatto è di fare una visita preliminare e di analisi.

Questo perchè in alcuni casi, come per esempio nel implantato del intero piano superiore, il trattamento viene eseguito in due parti ed ognuna di queste divise in altre parti ed anche un periodo di guarigione il quale può coinvolgere diverse visite per iniziare ed altre visite dopo 5 mesi.

Questo comporterebbe dunque diverse visite ed interventi il che dipende su quanti implantati sono necessari e come complessi sono.

Per rendere l'idea dei costi di questo tipo di trattamento un implantato (un dente)

In Italia o Svizzera per esempio - per un lavoro simile il costo parte da circa 4 volte di più - e si suppone che altrove in Europa i costi sarebbero similmente alti.
Chiedete un preventivo al vostro dentista.

Ma nonostante il risparmio nel farsi fare questo tipo di intervento in CZ - come già detto - è coinvolto un periodo di guarigione durante il quale è possibile un rigetto (l'osso mascellare non accetta volentieri la vite metallica) il quale potrebbe causare complicazioni.

Se accade un rigetto - nessun grosso problema - ma una visita immediata al dentista a Praga è necessaria.

Per cui... se avete bisogno di implantati e potreste ritornare a Praga entro un paio di giorni nel caso di un rigetto - o comunque tornare per le altre visite necessarie per completare l'implantato - allora potreste considerare seriamente di farlo fare a Praga.

Presumibilmente col risparmio economico coinvolto uno potrebbe ritornare molte volte e comunque risparmiare.

Me se non potreste ritornare per qualche giorno in caso di complicazioni, suggeriamo vivamente che questi tipi di trattamenti sono da fare nel vostro paese.

Veneer di Porcellana
Veneer di porcellana o laminati di porcellana sono sottilissimi coperture dentali le quali vengono cementate sui lati esteriori dei denti per ottenere effetti cosmetici di aggiustamento.
Per esempio per denti troppo storti.
Veneer di porcellana sono usati di solito per abbellire denti che sono scolorati, consumati, spezzati oppure non allineati bene e creano un dente vero-simile perfetto.

Sareste sorpresi che mentre un maggiore componente di un dente è lo smalto, non è smalto solido. In verità lo smalto è solo la parte esteriore del dente.

Dato che porcellana è ceramica, e ha dunque una superficie simile al vetro, è molto liscio e non graffiabile.
